Sprinter – Early Spring

by | Aug 11, 2014 | Fauna & Flora, In the Garden

Professor Tim Entwisle, scientist with the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, suggests that we add an extra two seasons to our calender- Sprinter (August – September) and Sprummer (October – November), then followed by Summer (December, January, February, March), Autumn (April & May) and Winter (June & July), and if you, like me have been gardening lots or riding your bike over many years, you would probably agree that his suggested calender makes so much more sense.

So in Sprinter I am. And this is what is happening in my Sprinter garden.

Sedum pachyphyllum, Jelly Beans. A clump forming evergreen succulent with bright small yellow flowers borne at the tip of a slim stalk. This succulent herb is slowly spreading through the greenhouse. It is very easy to maintain and looks wonderful.
